The altamont soil that appears on our vineyard’s hilltops is sedimentary marine in nature and distinguished by its red color and relatively high clay content. Rare and treasured by local winemakers, this soil is associated with ageworthy wines of concentrated character. A blend from the most privileged hilltops on our ranch, the 2019 Altamont Pinot noir leads with forward aromatics of ripe raspberries and baking spices, followed by rich, luscious flavors.
